Suj’s Savvy South Bay Saturday

My Perfect Itinerary from Riviera Village to the Manhattan Beach Pier

As a real estate agent, I spend my week touring houses. But as a South Bay local, I spend my weekends chasing the perfect cup of coffee, the freshest coastal breeze, and that "vacation-at-home" feeling we’re so lucky to have.

If you’re looking for a perfect Saturday in the 310, here is exactly how I’d spend it—starting in the charming streets of the Riviera and ending at the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier.

9:00 AM – The Caffeine Kickoff (Riviera Village)

We start in Riviera Village, the crown jewel of South Redondo. Park your car and head straight to Hi-Fi Espresso. In 2026, their "fidelity in coffee" is still the local gold standard.

  • Mayor’s Order: Grab a Lavender Vanilla Latte and a pastry, then take a quick stroll down Catalina Avenue to window-shop the boutiques before the midday crowds arrive.

10:30 AM – The Member’s Choice: South Coast Botanic Garden

Just a short drive away is the South Coast Botanic Garden. As a member here, I can tell you there is no better place to find peace on a Saturday.

  • The 2026 Highlight: If you’re visiting before February 1st, don’t miss the Dinosaurs Around the World exhibit—it’s incredible to see life-sized animatronics tucked into our 87 acres of greenery.

  • Pro Tip: Head to the Rose Garden or the Banyan Tree for a quiet moment. It’s hard to believe this lush oasis was once a reclaimed landfill; it’s a true testament to the South Bay’s spirit of renewal.

12:30 PM – The Bluffs & The Breeze (PVE)

Continue toward the Palos Verdes Bluffs. If you want the best view in LA County without a strenuous hike, walk the trail along Paseo Del Mar.

  • The View: This is where you’ll see the "Queens Necklace"—the stunning curve of the coastline from PV all the way to Malibu.

2:30 PM – A Mid-Day Recharge (Manhattan Beach)

Time to head North. Swing by Two Guns Espresso in Manhattan Beach. Their "Kiwis in California" vibe and flat whites are legendary.

  • Real Estate Eye: While you're sipping your coffee, take a slow drive through the Tree Section. In 2026, we’re seeing some incredible modern farmhouse and wellness-integrated designs that are redefining the neighborhood’s aesthetic.

4:30 PM – The Golden Hour Walk

Park near the Manhattan Beach Pier. This is the most photographed spot in the South Bay for a reason. Walk the pier, check out the Roundhouse Aquarium, and then head over to The Strand House for a pre-dinner cocktail.

  • The Vibe: Watching the sun dip behind the pier with a drink in hand? That’s the South Bay dream, right there.

7:00 PM – Dinner & Nightlife

To cap off the night, head to the Hermosa Pier area. For a "Digital Mayor," you have two great options:

  1. Palmilla Cocina y Tequila: High energy, beautiful decor, and the best home-made tortillas in the 310.

  2. Tower 12: If you want that classic, elevated "surf-shack" vibe to toast to a perfect Saturday.

The Verdict: People don't just move to the South Bay for the square footage—they move here for the Saturdays. If you’re ready to stop visiting and start living here, I’m the neighbor who can help you find the front door.
